Statement of intent
Statement of Intent
I can assure you that my advert will follow all the
rules of the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority). My advert will be a
non-broadcast advert and therefore will comply with the non-broadcast rules. My
advert will not mislead, harm or offend any of the viewers. Code rule 4.1
states that "marketing communications must not contain anything that is
likely to cause serious or widespread offence. Care must be taken to avoid
causing offence on the grounds of age, disability, gender, gender reassignment,
marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or
belief, sex, and sexual orientation...". I will be 100% sure that all the
language used within my marketing isn't likely to cause any serious or
widespread offence and select the words I use carefully and within the right
context and usage. I also intend to make the ad appropriately targeted and
create the correct general tone, all of this to take particular care to avoid
offending all the groups listed above.
For the product to be successful with audiences it
must have a representation of the company in a positive way so that they will
be interested in looking into my product/advert, and the product/audience will
also be represented positively, e.g., young energetic, creative, and much more.
I will construct my billboard adverts to attract and appeal to the target
audience, with the certain layout, images, color scheme, fonts, and taglines I
will carefully consider what these will be and what the target audience will
think of them, being a 16–25-year-old, both male and female and all the above,
thriller and/or drama fan demographic.
